Hijab Type

4 Types of Hijabs that are Common

 Why is Hijab?

A hijab, which is a hair and neck cover, is intended as a sign of modesty and protection from negative influences and thoughts. It is required for Muslim women for them to maintain consciousness in their interaction with people.

There are many types of hijab out there that cover the neck and hair, but 4 types are common:

One-piece Hijab, two-piece hijab, long or rectangular hijab or scarf, and square hijab of scarf.

Four common hijab types:

One-Piece Hijab:

The 1-piece hijab is the easiest to wear – just slip it on the head down to the shoulder while maintaining hair coverage and you are done.

Two-Piece Hijab:

The 2-piece hijab is easy to wear. It comes with short piece, commonly known as “Undercap,” and a longer piece that completes the coverage of the head and neck.

Long Scarf (Hijab)

The long, or rectangular scarf is the most commonly used as a hijab. It requires wrapping around the head and often a pin is used to stabilize it

Just place the rectangular scarf around your face, making sure one side remains considerably longer than the other, and use the longer side to wrap it over the shorter end part, tying it around your head. You can use a pin to hold the scarf in place.

Some prefer wearing rectangular scarves with undercap.

Square Scarf (Hijab)

Not as common as the other types of hijabs but is still in use and is relatively easy to wear. The square scarf is worn by folding it once in the shape of triangle and placing it on the head – you can tie it under your chin or stabilize it with a pin.
